Student Life

Traditions

  • Arizona State University is an institution with a strong sense and respect for tradition.  Among the most celebrated are the Homecoming Festivities. These events are important because they bring students and the community together.  The Homecoming Parade allows campus clubs, organizations, and local businesses to build and display their floats to the community, student body, and alumni.
  • Lantern Walk is one of the oldest and most respected of traditions dating back to 1917.  This ceremony unites students and alumni as they gather at the base of ‘A’ Mountain in a ceremony celebrating ASU pride
  • Gold Rush takes place at ASU athletic events when the entire student section becomes a sea of gold with fans showing their school spirit by wearing gold.
  • Sun Devil 101 is an annual tradition for freshman students. Every year they hike the mountain to whitewash the gold ‘A’ commencing the beginning of a new year.

Social Opportunities

Becoming involved in any of the ASU student clubs and organizations give students the opportunity to build friendships and network outside of the classroom.  It is important that business students become involved in business related clubs and organizations because it will give them a chance to share thoughts and ideas with others that have similar interests, visions, and goals.  This will help to ensure that a W. P. Carey School of Business student has the most fulfilling and educational college experience.

Carey MBA students to address the different career opportunities for MBAs within their company.  This year, some of the companies include: Union Pacific, Black and Decker, Experian, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, Cisco Systems, and Pfizer.
