Dr. Robert Cialdini, Regent's Professor, Arizona State University, presents the second in the lecture series, "Influence: Science and Practice". In this presentation, Dr. Cialdini addresses the challenges that marketers face in uncertain times.
In the field of influence and persuasion, Dr. Cialdini is among the most cited social psychologists in the world today. With over one million copies sold of his book, "Influence: Science and Practice", Dr. Cialdini shares the results of multiple studies on the best practices of persuasion in the business setting. Dr. Cialdini's clients have included IBM, Coca Cola, Merrill Lynch, Kodak, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
The event is hosted by the Department of Marketing PROFESSIONAL SALES AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT INITIATIVE, in conjunction with PSE IOTA. Designed for students who wish to pursue a career in professional sales, this initiative builds on the Sales and Relationship Management courses offered by the Department of Marketing. Activities include a wide range of professional and executive educational events.

What is the Initiative?
The Professional Sales and Relationship Management Initiative is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in professional sales. The Initiative builds on the Sales and Relationship Management Elective Stream framework offered within the Department of Marketing. Thus, the Initiative consists of a combination of Department of Marketing courses, and a wide range of professional and executive educational events, that combine to provide an enhanced and valuable experience for Initiative members.
What is unique about this Initiative?
You will have unique opportunities to network with highly sought-after companies that focus their recruiting efforts on students who have a strong interest in a career in professional sales. Many of these employers also provide internship and career development opportunities that are the very best available.
The professional activities included in the Initiative are important real world opportunities to enhance your personal and professional development.

The Elective:

MKT 410 - Sales and Sales Management (Required)
Plus at least one of:
MKT 494 - Entrepreneurship and Marketing
MKT 442 - Services Marketing Strategy
MKT 452 - Business-to-Business Marketing Strategy
Along with taking the appropriate Marketing courses, we recommend the following activities that are designed to enhance your professional skills and fulfill the applied component requirements of the Initiative:
- Maintain active and involved Membership of Pi Sigma Epsilon
- Attend a Professional Sales and Relationship Management Seminar and Panel Events. A list of Events is available.
- Attend recruiting events and forums designed for the Initiative members and supporters.
