| Students may be admitted to the Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance with or without prior graduate work. Undergraduate training in finance, economics, mathematics, or engineering provides anexcellent background for the doctoral program in Finance. Admission to the Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance is granted to applicants who present convincing evidence of their analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, and abilityto work independently in pursuing scholarly research. Applicants should possess the intellectual curiosity and discipline required for original inquiry. In addition to the general requirements of the Division of Graduate Studies, applicants must submit three letters of recommendation, scores from the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), and a brief statement of their career objectives. International applicants whose native language is not English must also submit scores from the TOEFL and the Test of Spoken English (TSE); if students have completed a degree from a U.S. college or university, they are not required to submit TOEFL scores.
