Scholarships and Awards The Department annually awards a number of scholarships and awards to academically outstanding students. Bank One Scholarship This award is made possible by Bank One Arizona's generous support of our joint Bank One/ASU Department of Economics Annual Economic Forecast Luncheon. The award is $500 per semester, up to one academic year. Edward Rondthaler Scholarship The Edward Rondthaler Scholarship is made possible by an endowment established in 1976 by Edward Rondthaler (B.S. Economics 1959, M.S. Economics 1966). This scholarship is awarded to the outstanding junior student majoring in Economics. The prize carries a stipend matching Arizona Board of Reagents estimate of in-state cost of living and the recipient's name is engraved on the Rondthaler plaque that hangs in the Department of Economics Lobby (BAC 600C).
Student Economics Association Award The Student Economics Association Award is sponsored by Brian Etheridge (B.S. Economics 1996) and Robert Redden (B.S. Economics 1996, M.B.A. 2002). This award is given to the economics major and member of the Student Economics Association (SEA) who best exhibits characteristics of outstanding citizenship and scholarship. The award is $500 and the recipient's name is engraved on the SEA plaque that hangs in the Department of Economics Lobby (BAC 600C).
Department of Economics Outstanding Student Award The Department of Economics Outstanding Student Award is presented by the Department of Economics faculty to the outstanding graduating senior majoring in Economics. The award is $500 and the recipient's name is engraved on the Outstanding Student plaque that hangs in the Department of Economics Lobby (BAC 600C).
Hardison Scholarship The Hardison Scholarship is made possible by an endowment established in 2002 by Robert T. Hardison (B.S. Economics 1977). This scholarship is awarded to an Economics doctoral student for the outstanding performance on the Ph.D. Qualifying Examination. The prize carries a stipend of $2,500 and the recipient's name is engraved on the Hardison plaque that hangs in the Department of Economics Lobby (BAC 600C).
Emeriti Professor Award The Emeriti Professor Award is sponsored by Edward Rondthaler (B.S. Economics 1959, M.S. Economics 1966). It is presented to the outstanding graduate student in the Economics Ph.D. program. The award is $500 and the recipient's name is engraved on the Hardison plaque that hangs in the Department of Economics Lobby (BAC 600C).
