I want to take the CPA exam. Is this the right program for me?
Yes and no. The CPA exam includes a lot of technical, somewhat procedural accounting materials. Most of this material is included in our undergraduate accounting curriculum. Our graduate courses are much more focused on new performance measurement techniques, strategic analysis, and information technology. The graduate credits you earn in the MTAX will enable you to sit for the CPA exam in any state, regardless of the 150-hour rule. However, if you do not have an undergraduate accounting degree you may find that you are not completely prepared to take the exam. It may be advisable for you to take additional coursework in external reporting and auditing.
